他將以 “Opposing Roles of Neuronal and Microglial Purinergic Receptors in CNS Diseases: The Example of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis” 為題,分享神經元與小膠質細胞 purinergic receptors 在中樞神經疾病,特別是 ALS 中可能扮演的不同角色。

他將以 “From caffeine to adenosine receptors, a translational journey in Alzheimer’s Disease” 為題,分享從 caffeine 到 adenosine receptors 於阿茲海默症研究中的轉譯歷程。

Distinguished Seminar|Purinergic and Adenosine Signaling in Neurodegenerative Diseases

The Maxo Chen Lab will host a Distinguished Seminar on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 15:30 to 17:05 at the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Medical Biotechnology, National Taiwan University College of Medicine.

We are honored to welcome two distinguished neuroscientists from France for this special academic exchange.

Dr. Eric Boué-Grabot is a CNRS Research Director and Deputy Director of the Neurodegenerative Disease Institute (IMN), Bordeaux. His research focuses on purinergic signaling, P2X receptors, neuroinflammation, and central nervous system disorders. He will present a talk entitled “Opposing Roles of Neuronal and Microglial Purinergic Receptors in CNS Diseases: The Example of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.”

Dr. David Blum is a Senior Research Director at Inserm and a leading investigator at the Lille Neuroscience & Cognition Research Centre. His work focuses on Alzheimer’s disease, tauopathies, adenosine receptors, caffeine, and translational neuroscience. His talk, “From caffeine to adenosine receptors, a translational journey in Alzheimer’s Disease,” will highlight the translational path from caffeine research to adenosine receptor biology in Alzheimer’s disease.

In addition to the two invited lectures, the seminar will include a Meet-the-Experts Discussion & Networking Session, providing an opportunity for students and faculty members to interact directly with the speakers and discuss neurodegeneration, purinergic signaling, adenosine signaling, and translational research.

This event is co-organized by the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Medical Biotechnology, the Taiwan Centers of Excellence-NTU Advanced Biomedical Research Center, and the NTU Center of Precision Medicine, with support from the NSTC PHC ORCHID Taiwan-France bilateral exchange program.

Faculty members, students, and researchers interested in neurodegenerative diseases and neuronal signaling are warmly welcome to join.
